Me
I have been collecting diecast since 1965. I started with Matchbox Series which I would buy 1 every week. I had a paper route back in 1965 and one of my customers had a bicycle shop at the other end of town and also was a hobby store. I remember back when all the cars came in there own little box. I didn't save any of the boxes. I still do have all my cars and trucks. I got some of the Matchbox Kingsize Series like the steam roller which I have a big one and a little one. In the past 35 years I now have combined all my Matchbox and Hot Wheels together and I am just about on my 6th 33 gallon tote filled to the rim of cars and trucks. I am running out of room to put these until I find a bigger place. I also collect old metal Fire Equiptment and Construction Equiptment that goes back to the 50's That I would get for Christmas every year. I have some that the tires and wheels are shot. I have been looking for replacements from the companies but, so far no luck. I still collect them no matter what the shape. I can fix most of them and repaint them. In the past few years I have been getting the trucks from all the Oil Companies each year at Christmas or anyone that has one to offer. I have been getting the Electric & Gas Companies trucks for something different. I just can't stop buying every different one I see. Since last November I came across the First Gear line off of Ebay. This is getting very habit forming. I seen one if the Cement mixers and now I won't stop until I have them all. Its a fun but, expensive hobby.

A FIREMAN FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS!!!
I Have Been A Volunteer Fireman In The Perry Fire Department For 30 Years. I Remember Back In 1971 When I Joined And Within My First Year Was A Mobile Home Fire That Took The Life Of 3 Small Children. I Will Never Forget That As Long As I Am Alive. It Was A Cold Winter Day When Everyone Had There Heat Going. I Was Really Ready To Give It Up Right There But, I Did'nt. That Situation Doesn't Happen Every Day. We Would Average Around 75 To 80 Alarms A Year. A Lot Was Minor But Then We Had A Barn Fire And You Would Spend The Rest Of The Day Just Tring To Put It Out. We Had Training Every Other Tuesday Night For 2 To 3 Hours On Using All The Equiptment Available. I For A Fifteen Year Streak Had The Best Fire Record With Not Missing More Than 3 Alarms In A Years Time. A Lot Has Changed In The Past 15 Years. I Have Been Working 12 Hour Shifts Both Days And Nights Along With 2 Weekends Per Month. I really Haven't Had Much Time To Spend With The Fire Department. But, I Am Still A Member In Good Standings. Since I Joined I Have Been Taking Pictures At All The Alarms And Functions That We Have Had. I Have My Own Darkroon In The Basement Of The Fire Hall That I Probably Have Not Been In For Better Than A Year. I Develope Just Black And White Negitives And Print Black & White Prints. I Have Been Spending My Time Going To Events Around The State Of New York Going To Balloon Festivals And Tall Ships Festivals And Visiting Different Lighthouses On Lake Ontario. I Have 2 Kodak Digital Cameras Along With 4 Different Minolta Cameras. I Have A Minolta 5xi Camera That I Get Great Pictures From Along With My XG-7, XG-A, X-700, Minolta Panoramic Camera. I Also Have A Quasar VL-450 CamCorder For Recording Videos Up To 2 Hours In Length. This Year Was A Record Year For Pictures. I Up To October 01, 2001 Have Taken 4,823 Pictures. Using Both Digital And 35mm Prints. We Just Came Back Last Weekend From The Adirondack Balloon Festival In Lake George, NY And I Took 1,198 Pictures On Our 4 Days There.
